LACE is a collection of rounded, futuristic shapes inspired by the Space Age. Created by Yonoh Studio, its polyethylene pieces seem to float on lightweight stainless steel structures, becoming authentic flying objects. OiKo Design

Founded by José F. López-Aguilar and Salva Codinach, OiKo is a Barcelona based product design office focused on the transition to a circular economy and for the common good. The studio designs starting from the research of the subject and user perception to solve new realities and to offer more competitive products, more sustainable and more emotionally engaging.

“As a studio, we work through materials in a very material-based design process. Sometimes we make them speak and express an aesthetic and a story in a very evident way, but also in other cases we try to silence the material and simply make it work. This is the case with Plier chair. That visually it doesn’t express but that you feel when you use it”.

Plier

An outdoor dining chair with clean lines, whose apparent simplicity hides deep design work that turns a smooth surface into an enveloping one. Plier is made up of an undulating line without right angles, achieved through a production process without constraints, without moulds. An origami exercise reflected in metal.

Odosdesign

Odosdesign is a multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2005 by Luis Calabuig and Ana Segovia, who met when they were studying Industrial Design at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. They work in very different areas of the world of design, from art direction to product concept, and they’re specialists in devising and developing visual communication strategies in different fields and media.

“Our work is based on a common search for new basics and on the combination of functionality, creativity, and aesthetics, as they aim to offer optional design solutions to their clients. We believe in strong ideas and passionate work, whatever the scale of the product or the location. We find creativity enriching in all its forms”.

Cacao is a fun collection of outdoor furniture created by Ana Segovia and Luis Calabuig from the Valencian studio Odosdesign for Diabla Outdoor. The shapes of the inflatable mattress are quite a surprise, as they resemble a chocolate bar divided into ounces.

Samuel Wilkinson

Samuel Wilkinson graduated in furniture and related product design at Ravensbourne College of Art & Design. He set up his eponymous studio in 2008 and his work diversifies across various disciplines from small consumer products to large public projects. Samuel Wilkinson’s commitment to designing interesting objects is apparent in his work, always looking to add a fresh approach in either form or function.

“A deep understanding of materials and manufacturing helps to overcome limitations and, at the same time, achieve a high level of detail and craftsmanship. TUBA may look very simple, but its clean aesthetic is the result of a highly technical process”.

Rocío Gambín

Rocío Gambín is a industrial design engineer and product designer. While studying at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia, the Milan Polytechnic and the Elisava Faculty of Design and Engineering in Barcelona. She developed a true passion for the world of furniture that has led her to work as a technical developer of new furniture designs.

“I like to keep things simple and honest, to stay with the essentials and to be understood. In a chair design to be as encapsulated as possible, any extra
features are superfluous”.

Designer and president and creative director of Gandia Blasco Group. In the 90’s managed to lead the activities of the family business towards the international design benchmark it is today.Diabla is the third brand he has set up and is his most recent business project.

“Beauty has to be functional in any piece of furniture. I like to think of pieces that have been in the collective imagination for a long time, which is why they easily connect with people.Redesigning them brings them closer to the current user”.

Alejandra Gandia-Blasco

Alejandra Gandía-Blasco is the assistant director of GANDIA BLASCO GROUP’s Communication. She graduated in Fine Art and then completed her training in Design and Communication at Central Saint Martins in London. She is an interdisciplinary creative, her work is based from visual arts and collective memory applied to the design of everyday objects and communication.

“More than beautiful and well-done things, I am interested in ideas and experiences. The rest is taken for granted. It is a challenge to rethink the objects and the reality that surrounds us with sufficient critical capacity”.

The Valentina Up collection is light, fun and elegant. His designs, built from the minimum elements, put into practice the maxim “less is more” of Mies van der Rohe with originality, the most genuine expression of the Diabla Outdoor style. Conceived as a review of the Valentina collection, awarded in several design competitions in 2019, Valentina Up is presented by its creator Alejandra Gandía-Blasco, reinventing her popular original designs by incorporating V-shaped zinc-plated iron rod legs. that improve the ergonomics of this outdoor furniture by raising it off the ground. With Valentina Up getting on and off your soft mats is even easier.

MUT Design is a Spanish design studio founded by Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón. Since its launch in 2010, the studio has been developing unconventional, timeless and artistic products for a selection of relevant firms. Frale Design

Alessandra Balsotti and Francesca Rosignoli founded Frale Design in 2014 after training in interior architecture at the Nuovo Istituto Design in Perugia (Italy). The ICS Swing won them the XIII GANDIABLASCO Outdoor Furniture Design Competition in 2018.

Alberto Martínez, Raky Martínez y Héctor Serrano

La Siesta started out as a collaborative project by Raky Martínez, Alberto Martínez from Culdesac studio and Héctor Serrano when they were studying a master’s degree in Product Design at the end of the 1990s at the Royal College of Art in London.

“We were interested in designing an object that would combine the traditional jug, used to keep water cool, with the shape of a plastic bottle. It’s a humorous review of a very iconic cultural element for us”.
